Engage Food Pantry was established in 2006 with a mission to fight hunger and provide hope to those in need, one box of food at a time. Our faith-based organization, with a 501(c)(3) status, is dedicated to serving the tri-cities and surrounding counties by offering food assistance to individuals struggling with food insecurity.
We recognize the severe impact of food insecurity on many people and families in our community. Therefore, we have taken the initiative to provide boxes of food and other essential items to people in various locations. Our primary objective is to reach out to those who reside in trailer parks, group homes, mental health organizations, shut-ins, veterans, people with physical disabilities or limited mobility, those who are homeless, and individuals struggling financially but are not eligible for social services or food stamps.
We understand the importance of ensuring everyone in our community has access to the resources needed to thrive. Our dedicated and diverse team of volunteers is committed to achieving this goal. No one should have to go to bed hungry, and we are doing everything we can to ensure that people in our community have access to essential items and food. We believe everyone deserves the chance to live a healthy and dignified life, and we are proud to be a part of making this a reality.
We at Engage Food Pantry want to express our gratitude for our volunteers' unwavering dedication and selfless service. They truly embody the spirit of compassion and generosity, and because of their efforts, we can reach and serve those in need within our community. If you, too, feel a calling to help those struggling, we welcome you to join our team of volunteers. Please complete our new volunteer registration form to get started.
Engage Food Pantry owes its success to its strong Directors, Pastor James Gray and Pastor Didi Gray. While Pastor James Gray holds a bachelor's degree in science and two master's degrees in education, Pastor Didi Gray is a licensed Chaplain with a Women's Studies certification from Zion College and the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) and Pastoral and Counseling credentials. Her exceptional leadership skills and extensive knowledge have helped the team at Engage Food Pantry work tirelessly to provide educational and healthcare services to disadvantaged communities.
In recognition of her contributions, Pastor Didi Gray was honored with the Community Hero Award by Core Foundation in 2023, a well-deserved recognition of her selfless dedication to the community. Her remarkable achievement was also featured on CBS 6 News, strengthening her reputation as an outstanding leader and community hero.
